Responding to LFA’s 2022 theme of ‘Act’, David Chipperfield Architects is hosting a roundtable discussion at Hoxton Press – a project designed in collaboration with Karakusevic Carson Architects – to consider the evolving role of architecture in response to urgent social and environmental crises.
The event draws on the contributors, questions, and ideas included in David Chipperfield’s guest editorship of Domus magazine in 2020. Chipperfield used the platform to bring together a range of voices from diverse disciplines to consider how the practice, processes and discussion of architecture must evolve.
Chipperfield wrote in his opening editorial that “for too long we have accepted the paradox of our resistance and complicity, developing narratives that explain away our discomfort”. Two years later, and with an increasingly unsettled geopolitical situation, we revisit a year of reflection to consider what must happen next.
David Chipperfield will be joined in conversation with Rory Olcayto, Amin Taha, Liesbeth Huybrechts, Jane Withers and Hisham Matar.
