Royal College of Surgeons tour

Wonderful things can happen when we carefully blend the old and new. The reimagining of The Grade II* listed Royal College of Surgeons headquarters is more than a simple retrofit; it combines a legacy of excellence with future innovation. Seeking to respond to the organisational transformation within the College, our designs celebrate the College’s rich heritage while providing a modern, flexible environment.

Our approach was respectfully radical; our designs truly embrace a mix of conservation and contemporary intervention. You’ll see the honest repairs to the original façade on Lincoln’s Inn Fields and the original rear elevation reinvented as a stunning internal feature rising majestically through the atrium to meet the barrel-vaulted glazed roof. The grand principal staircase takes you to the refurbished and adapted Lumley Library and reading rooms and on further to the impressive sixth floor meeting and function spaces and the roof terraces with their stunning views over London. The tour will be lead by architect Andrew Wadeson.
