Public Buildings in South Westminster

30 June 2022

11:00 -12:30

Starting near Westminster Abbey, and ending near the Houses of Parliament, this 90 minute walk explores the extraordinary range of public sector buildings to be found "off the beaten track". Philanthropists to be discovered include George Peabody, architects include Edwin Lutyens. We end with considering a large, new and controversial public memorial, planned for what is currently an an open public space. The walk will be led by Mike Marriott, qualified Westminster Guide.
