Invisible Tales

25 June 2022

10:00 -12:00

Invisible Tales invites disabled creatives to share and reflect on the day-to-day interactions between disabled people and the city. Whether trying to gain access to an illegal rave, or haggling your way into a Starbucks toilet, Invisible Tales exposes those largely neglected experiences which make up the social lives of disabled people.

Through sharing these moments, the event aims to explore how dialogue and storytelling binds us, and will ultimately aim to expose the overlooked shared experience which connects and collectivises disabled people.

Several speakers will be taking part online. Including Amy Francis-Smith, Chris Scarffe and Chris Laing, reflecting on themes of Deafness, rest, and cultural inclusion in the city.

To mark the event, a handheld map will be made by artist Anna Curtz Price which translates the stories into something tangible and situated.
