Exploring London’s Workhouses

25 June 2022

14:00 -15:30

Join us for this guided walk, as we visit the ruins of two large workhouses near Archway in north London. Acting as memorials of Victorian times when enforced labour of impoverished people was regarded as an act of charity, we will investigate these sites and uncover narratives of their past lives. Catherine will be your guide as we unearth the foundations of these buried and derelict buildings and discover how they interact with the London of today.

This walk is one in a series of a walking art project, supported by Five Years Gallery. For background information on Catherine Harrington, see http://catherineharrington.org.
