Dear London

12 June 2022

13:00 -14:30

Dear London is a promenade performance set within Corbett Estate in south-east London. Visitors follow estate developer Archibald Corbett to connect with the journeys of the Corbett residents and wider Lewisham community spanning over 110 years. They discover unspoken displacement stories inspired by the migration tales of the small community; and uncover the importance of design for inclusion, as the walking performance sparks a conversation about socio-spatiality and identity using theatrical performance, historic memoirs, diary entries, participatory activities, and interviews.

Dear London offers visitors an exciting opportunity to experience the narrative power of architecture through live journalism. Connecting the community through local storytelling, it celebrates displaced voices and unveils the hidden in a bid to conserve stories of place, while recognising the role design plays in preserving the city’s rich culture.
