CSM BA Architecture Degree Studio 6 Exhibition: Could river networks reignite historic industries to confront gentrification, demolition culture and the climate emergency?
How can a canal become more than a transport route and a pretty view? Does climate change present an urgent need to rethink our waterways? How can we promote and enhance local communities along the river against a tide of gentrification? Through recreation, interaction and radical ideas, we explore design proposals to these questions. Join us for an exhibition on design proposals to Chisenhale Works, a former veneer factory and brewery on Hertford Union Canal. Emerging architecture students from Central Saint Martin’s exhibit their ideas through a range of mixed media, including drawings, animations, recycled material tests and models. The event will facilitate guided tours, workshops and talks with representatives from the local authorities, CSM Architecture Studio 6 and local community champions.
Organised in collaboration with the LB Tower Hamlets Architecture Team and UAL: CSM BA Architecture Studio 6.
