Build Studios is a hub for the built environment. With events, education and co-working space, we aim to inspire the next generation about the built environment through collaboration and learning.
We are committed to developing a socially responsible built environment sector and work with our community to improve access, aspiration and cohesion. Our workspace company, Build Workspace, provides co-working space for start-ups and small businesses in the built environment sector. All profits fund Build Studios’ charitable work.
For LFA 2022 we are opening the doors of our workspace for a quickfire collection of five minute talks from our members including:
Jonathan Fashanu, Founding Director, Dash will speak on the case for a deep retrofit to meet modern building standards.
Pierre Saunal, Founding Partner, airc, who will be talking about how OpenBIM is changing the way the human ecosystem is delivered using digital design, bespoke workflows, advanced collaboration and BIM ISO19650.
Virginia Long, Senior Heritage Consultant, Fuller Long will cover the importance of heritage led design and the potential risk of rogue properties being added to the local list mid-application.
Finally Natalie Raben, Chief Executive of WeAreWaterloo Business Improvement District (BID) will be joined by architecture and urban planning practice, Allies and Morrison, to discuss the process behind developing a Placemaking Strategy for Waterloo
Join us for an eclectic evening of engaging conversation and refreshments with professionals from a wide range of specialisms in the built environment industry.
