This roundtable discussion between AA Summer School tutors will discuss how architects, designers and researchers can act together with communities and other disciplines, redefining the role of architectural practice. The event offers a preliminary exploration of the themes that will be explored in the three-week AA Summer School 2022 programme, which will take place online this July. Titled About a New Togetherness, the programme aims to rethink the ways in which we come together as communities in response to the experience of the pandemic. Our selection of units address ‘togetherness’ through a variety of themes including upcycling and habitation, landscape design and community, cultural histories and spatial performance, social and economic realms and extended reality and film. Unit tutors and speakers at the event include Elliot Rogosin, Albane Duvillier, Marco Veneri, Jumanah Bawazir, Khaled Al-Bashir, Lisa Chan, Yushi Li, Arshiya Vij, Serra Ozdemir and Jenn Leung.
