The Davidson Prize presents a live ceremony and exhibition to celebrate the longlisted teams of its 2022 edition.
With the theme ‘Co-Living: A New Future?’, the brief asked whether co-living could be a solution to the way we think about our homes as well as our communities. Although not a new concept, it’s a question particularly apposite in light of the UK’s well-documented undersupply of homes, leading to today’s generation rent as well as burgeoning visible and invisible homelessness.
The demands being placed on the spaces we live are more complex than ever before and the three finalists’ proposals actively tackle these challenges.
The three finalists are:
• Co-Living in the Countryside by Charles Holland Architects
• Communiversity by Moebius Studio
• It Takes a Village by Child-Hood
The winner of the £10,000 prize and the People’s Choice Prize, sponsored by VitrA Bathrooms, will be announced on the night.
